Milano - ANDERMATT
Reception of the participants at HertzRide location and tour presentation. After that we will head north along the lake Maggiore and through the historic towns of Arona and Stresa that combine history and natural beauty with destination Bellinzona, Swiss town famous for its three medieval castles. Stop for lunch. We will start again entering the heart of the mountains with the crossing of the Gotthard Pass (2.016 m.), used by pilgrims in the Middle Ages to reach Rome or the Holy Land. In the late afternoon we will finish the first day in Andermatt, a famous tourist resort, well known for winter sports.
ANDERMATT - CHIAVENNA
The second day will take us through 5 magnificent alpine passes (Furka Pass, Grimsel Pass, Susten Pass, Oberalp Pass, Spluga Pass) with their hairpin bends and breathtaking views over 2000 m. of altitude will remain an indelible memory of this day in the name of the mountain. At the end of the day we will arrive in Chiavenna, a renowned tourist place and in the past important strategic center in the heart of Rezia region.
CHIAVENNA - LIVIGNO
On the third day we will cross the Valtellina, famous for its unique gastronomy, heading east and crossing two other Alpine passes (Aprica Pass and Gavia Pass) that will give us driving pleasure and spectacular views. In particular, the Gavia pass can be considered a place of uncontaminated beauty because it climbs steeply in a few kilometers through a narrow and winding road up to over 2,600 m. of altitude. In the afternoon we will continue to Bormio, a famous tourist resort known for its thermal waters, to conclude the day in Livigno, a "duty free" location famous for those who love shopping.
LIVIGNO - GARMISH P.
On this day we will cross 4 countries: Italy, Switzerland, Austria and Germany. It will be a succession of emotions and places to discover starting from the most familiar among the Alpine passes, the Stelvio Pass and then descend to Glorenza, a small town founded in the eleventh century D.C. characteristic for its walls where you can breathe the air of other times. In Austria we will climb green valleys until we cross the Fern Pass and soon reach Germany for our stop at Garmish Partenchirchen, known ski resort located at the foot of the Zugspitze (2.962 m), the highest mountain in Germany.
GARMISH P. - CORTINA D'AMPEZZO
The fifth day will lead us to cross mainly the Austrian territory along wide valleys that will offer the view of pastures and landscapes different from those seen in the previous days until we reach the glacier of Grossglockner climbing a beautiful panoramic road surrounded by hundreds of marmots that live the slopes of the mountain. A short stop and then it's time to go back into the saddle to head towards the final stage of the day, Cortina d'Ampezzo, called the pearl of the Dolomites because surrounded by an amphitheater of mountains of irresistible beauty. Cortina is also famous for being considered a resort frequented by VIPs capable of offering the best of shops, hotels and gastronomic services.
CORTINA D'AMPEZZO - Merano
From Cortina d'Ampezzo to Merano through the heart of the dolomites passing the group of the Sella mountain massifs through its most famous passes; Falzarego Pass from which it is possible to admire a view of the valley where Cortina is set, Campolongo and Pordoi Passes that will take us to Valgardena and head to Bressanone, a town founded in 901 D.C.. historical, artistic, cultural and economic capital of the Isarco Valley district. We are in Italy but the language mainly spoken is German. From Bressanone, through the pristine Val Sarentina we reach Merano, a picturesque town located at the start of four important valleys: Val Venosta, Val Passiria, Val d'Adige and Val d'Ultimo
Merano - Milano
On the last day we will descend to the plains crossing the Adamello natural park with a break in Madonna di Campiglio, a tourist resort of the Brenta Dolomites to Riva del Garda, overlooking the lake of the same name and popular spot for those who practice windsurfing and MAG headquarters, (Museo Alto Garda) which exhibits exhibitions of history and archeology and houses the art gallery, with works from the 15th to the 19th century. Starting again we will skirt the western side of the lake, which offers striking views along its shore. At the end of the lake we will take the motorway to easily return to Milan.
