Las Vegas - Springdale
We leave the bright lights of Las Vegas and start our trip heading northeast to Springdale, Utah, the entrance to Zion National Park. The landscape begins to change as soon as we leave the big city, and we will be riding through the beautiful Lake Meadows Recreation Area. By the time we arrive at the mesmerizing Valley of Fire, our first stop of the day, you will know already that this trip is going to be breathtakingly unique. From there, we will keep on riding through old little towns and then connect to I-15 for a beautiful afternoon crossing into Utah. Our stop for the night will be cozy and charming Springdale, at the entrance of Zion National Park.
Springdale - Escalante
Our day starts with an unforgettable ride through Zion, a favorite amongst the American national parks. Be prepared to stop quite a few times for incredible photos while we marvel at the natural beauty around us. We leave the park heading north, on our way to the must-see destination that is Bryce. Our second national park is famous for its unique red, orange and white hoodoo rocks, as well as the open natural amphitheaters. We can guarantee you will be impressed by the visit. After lunch, we will follow on to Escalante via Highway 12, a true All-American road that is simply a joy to ride on.
Escalante - Moab
We will leave Escalante for a full day on two amazing scenic roads. We will stay on Highway 12 for most of the morning, and it will keep getting better as we climb the mountains. In Torrey we will have a quick coffee break before heading east on Highway 24 to Hanksville and lunch. Following on Highway 24 and I-70, we will arrive at our riverside hotel near Moab via another outstanding road alongside the Colorado River.
Moab is an adventure hub for many different outdoor activities, and also home to two of the most visited parks in the whole country. We will have a full day to ride across Arches and Canyonlands' little roads and trails for as much as we want. It is time to feel like a real cowboy and explore all Moab has to offer!
Moab – Hotchkiss
Today we will cross into Colorado, after riding on the La Sal mountains in the morning and enjoying a few extraordinary views from the roadside. River canyons and twisty secondary roads are the main attractions for a good part of the day. After lunch in Gateway, we will press on alongside the Uncompahgre National Forest to Hotchkiss and a satisfying, cozy dinner in this charming little town.
Hotchkiss – Durango
Get ready for one of the highlights of our trip, as far as beautiful roads are concerned. Our day journey to Durango, in southern Colorado, will take us through US550, or Million Dollar Highway as it is more commonly known. We will stop at the quaint little towns of Ouray and Silverton, and climb up to 11,000 ft (3,300 m) on the Red Mountain Pass, one of the three high-altitude passes along our way. In Durango, our reward for yet another fantastic day will be a finger-licking traditional BBQ feast that is famous all around the area.
Durango – Monument Valley
It will be a long day on our way to Monument Valley, but the carefully chosen route will make it a memorable one as well. Leaving Durango, we will start moving back west and will enter U491 for another exciting stretch of road to Monticello. In the afternoon, we turn south to visit Valley of the Gods, a 17-mile loop around an out-of-this-world scenery that is sure to leave you speechless. Our day will end right in the middle of Monument Valley for a well-deserved rest in its magnificent surroundings.
Monument Valley – Grand Canyon
After visiting Monument Valley in the morning, we will take on the road to Page, Arizona, passing by the famous Horseshoe Bend after lunch for some must-have photo souvenirs. The afternoon will have us riding through beautiful landscapes while we make our way to the south entrance of Grand Canyon. Our lodge for the next two nights is perfectly located inside the park, allowing us to make the best of our visit to yet another iconic destination in the Midwest.
On our second rest day of the trip, you will be hard pressed to pick your choices. You can hike on many different trails, from easy to challenging ones; ride a mule along the canyon rim; or just let time pass by while contemplating this majestic display of steep canyons formed by millions of years of natural forces. Make sure the camera is ready for a day of real intense use.
Grand Canyon - Laughlin
We say goodbye to our relaxed time in the Grand Canyon and head south on Highway 643 towards Williams, where we stop for a quick coffee and turn east to Laughlin, our destination for today. Soon we will make a little detour and finally enter the famous Route 66. The stretch between Seligman and Kingman ranks amongst the most interesting of the whole famous route, and we will see plenty of real 'Americana' in picturesque road stops and charming old-time motels. At the end of this long day on the saddle, refreshing cocktails and a delicious dinner will help us celebrate another formidable day on the road.
Laughlin – Amargosa Valley
The world-famous Death Valley is waiting for us! We will leave Laughlin early in the morning, and soon we will be riding in California, getting our first sights of the arid and glorious northern Mojave Desert. Long winding roads and stunning rock formations will keep us fully entertained until our stop for the night near the town of Amargosa Valley.
Amargosa Valley – Las Vegas
This last day of our trip will have us riding further west into Death Valley to explore the area a bit more. Plenty to see and to enjoy on our way to Beatty, where after a welcome cold beverage we will turn back east towards Las Vegas. It's hard to imagine our journey is coming to an end, but our hearts will be filled with joy and gratitude for a successful and thrilling road trip with new friends. Vegas will be the perfect setting for a fun and delicious farewell dinner!
