Nice - Cuneo
Nice, 'La Belle' as the city is affectionately called, will stay behind us as we ride along the Mercantour National Park and its twisty roads. This Maritime Alps park is the starting point to mountain roads that every motorcyclist dream to ride at least once in his or her lifetime. After visiting the perched village of Saorge, we'll cross the Tende Pass to enter Italy. Our first night on the road will be in Cuneo, in the Italian Piedmont, home to tasty transalpine culinary specialties and traditional Italian hospitality.
Cuneo - Embrun
We head back to France in the morning, and the Col de Larche (1990 m) will be our first scenic stop of the day. This Pass ('Col' in French) is also called Colle Maddalena on the Italian side, and it delimits the Italo-French border. We follow our journey north to Briançon, a historical city inscribed on the list of UNESCO world heritage sites, with its fortifications of Vauban, the city walls, the forts of Salettes, Têtes, Randouillet, and the bridge of Asfeld. After lunch, we will take the road to Embrun, a Provençal fortified town where we can admire the views of the Durance Valley and get lost on the narrow streets of this true Alps gem.
Embrun - Moustiers Saint Marie
The day starts with the crossing of the National Park of the Écrins, where the Lake of Serre-Ponçon and its hydraulic dam dominate the landscape. We head south to a great day of riding through the gorges, which is French for canyons. The first major gorge is Daluis, a red rock canyon created by the Var River, leading us to Castellane for lunch. It is then time for us to be amazed by one of the most beautiful canyons in Europe, the Verdon Gorge. Get the camera ready for 25 km of breathtaking landscapes along the Verdon River and its marvelous turquoise-green waters. This extraordinary day will end in Moustiers St. Marie, considered one of the most beautiful villages in the whole country.
Moustiers Saint Marie - Saint-Tropez
We leave Verdon Gorge via the Sainte Croix Lake, a perfect start to this day of contrasts along the way. From typical villages to major cosmopolitan cities, our route will take us through beautiful lakes and spectacular canyons, up to our lunch stop at Lorgues, famous for its vineyards and home to excellent rosé wines. The coast of the Mediterranean Sea is our destination for the day, and we'll arrive in time to admire the sunset behind the beautiful citadel of Saint Tropez.
A full day dedicated to relax and discover the most beautiful beaches and places around Saint Tropez. There is so much to see and experience in this historic town, and we will have a hard time deciding what to do next while we 'recharge the batteries' for the following day on the road, the final one for this tour.
Saint-Tropez - Nice
Let's get ready for a day of absolute joy, a feast for our eyes and senses as we ride along the magnificent road D559! The ocean will be on our side all day long, while we pass through some of the most beautiful cities in the French Riviera: Fréjus, Théoule-sur-Mer, Cannes, Antibes, Monaco, and Menton are on our route as we head back to Nice. In the evening, we dress up for a splendid celebration dinner to mark the end of the unforgettable days we will have spent together.
